Review interface¶
Review interface refers to the interactive components (mouse and keyboard shortcuts) to assist with the review process.
Common elements¶
- Double or right click would zoom the data being displayed
- to rate, click the appropriate button, or press the key corresponding to the capitalized letter for that option
- This is usually the first later e.g.
GforGood,sforSpikes,RforReview later- but can also be others (capitalized) if there is overlap with other words:
M` for ``i'M tired- You can not advance to next sbuject/scan/unit without rating the current one. If you are not sure yet about how to rate it, or need additional details or discussion, simply use
Review lateroption.- to advance to next subject, click
Nextbutton.- to quit the review temporarily, click
Quitbutton or pressCtrl+Qkeys.
Review interface - Freesurfer¶
- double click any panel (MR slice or surf vis) to zoom it large. Single click anywhere to unzoom
- to toggle the colored contour overlay, right click or press the key
t. This works even when a slice is zoomed-in or not. Toggling the contour back and forth helps decide whether it follows the tissue boundaries accurately or not- slider changes the opacity of the contour overlay in all slices.
Review interface - Anatomical / T1w MRI¶
- Double click to zoom in on any slice.
- Double click the histogram to zoom the intensity distribution
- keyboard shortcuts (capitalized letters in label) to rate artefacts

Review interface - Registration¶
- keyboard shortcuts (capitalized letters in label) to rate the quality of alignment
- Double click the histogram to zoom the distribution of voxel-wise differences
- Click on the radio buttons to change the type of blending - Animate or Checkerboard or Edges or Color mix etc.
alt+1to show only the first imagealt+2to show only the second image- Double click to zoom in on any slice.
Review interface - Functional MRI¶
- Right click to open a specific time point (also known as a frame)
- Use the arrow keys to traverse in time (right/up keys to increase the frame, and left/down key to decrease it)
- Right click again on slices to zoom them further full-window
- Press
alt+sto show the std. dev map (voxel-wise, over time)- Press the spacebar to go the next subject
Review interface - Diffusion MRI¶
- Right click to open a specific gradient
- Right click again on slices to zoom them further full-window
- Use the arrow keys to traverse across different gradients (right/up keys to move forward to the next gradient, and left/down key to go backwards to the previous gradient)
- Press
alt+sto show the std. dev map (voxel-wise, across gradients)- Press
alt+0to show the b=0 volume- Press
alt+nto flip back and forth between the first and last gradients- Press
spaceto pause the animation through the gradients
Review interface - Defacing¶
- Right click to open and zoom a given slice for easier review
- Use the left and right arrow keys to traverse through the subjects
- Press the following keys to switch to different modes:
alt+bto show the defaced image alone,alt+oto show the original image alone andalt+mto show the default mixed overlay highlighting the part to be removed.
